IMI Fabi signed the Antwerpen declaration for a European Industrial Deal.

On February 20, 2024 several companies and organizations among which IMI Fabi,  expressed their support for a European Industrial Deal to complement the Green Deal aiming at keeping high quality jobs in Europe.  It is therefore very important for Europe to remain a continent of industrial innovation, but a place of industrial production as well. For the climate neutrality and farther targets set between 2040 and 2050, it is deeply recommended a better focus on electricity production investments, as Europe is currently facing a severe downturn with falling of demands, increase of costs and investment stuck or moving to other regions.

Both China and US economy are on the other hand benefitting from this economic conjuncture and Europe needs a brand-new strategic policy to positioning in a fast-pace geopolitical economy. It is fundamental that basic and energy intensive industries remain and invest in Europe. This is also to avoid future dependance from other countries.

The Antwerpen declaration  calls   Member State  Governments to:

01 Put the Industrial Deal at the core of the new European Strategic Agenda for 2024-2029.

02 Include a strong public funding chapter with a Clean Tech Deployment Fund.

03 Make Europe a globally competitive provider of energy.

04 Focus on the infrastructure Europe needs.

05 Increase the EU’s raw materials security.

06 Boost demand for net zero, low carbon and circular products.
