National's mine Day 2025
On Saturday, May 24, Valmalenco hosted the XVII National Mines' Day, offering visitors a full immersion into the valley’s mining heritage. The event featured a rich program of guided tours, workshops, and cultural activities celebrating geology, craftsmanship, and local traditions.
During the morning, participants explored several important mining sites, including the Brusada-Ponticelli Mine, the underground tunnels of the Bagnada Mine , and the active Italian Serpentine Quarry. Each visit provided a unique insight into the area’s mining past and present.
In the afternoon, visitors took part in creative and educational activities, such as a stone‑carving workshop and an interactive visit to Valbrutta's lathes and the Bagnada Mine Museum, suitable for adults and families alike.
The day concluded at the Brusada-Ponticelli-Valbrutta mine area with “Stone: Keeper of Silence,” an atmospheric concert leaded by the pianist Alex de Simoni.
