National's mine Day 2024

The sixteenth edition of the National Mines’ Day took place in May 2024. This event aims to promote the value and cultural heritage of geological tourism, which has been gaining interest across the country. Sponsored by the National Council of Geologists, EuroGeoSurveys, and the association “The Spring of Sweet Mobility 2024,” the initiative highlighted the economic and cultural resources of various valleys, along with their working heritage.

Lanzada embraced this initiative by organizing several events to showcase its mineral and mineralogical riches. The program included a variety of activities and workshops focused on teaching the ancient art of soapstone and serpentine sculpting, as well as guided tours of quarries, mines, and museums. For example, the disused Bagnada mine was opened for a special initiative called "The Retiree's Afternoon," dedicated to the elderly. Alternatively, visitors could explore the digital museum.

IMI Fabi also participated by opening the Brusada-Ponticelli-Valbrutta mine for several visits expecially for the primary schools and  a concert celebrating iconic pop singers such as Edith Piaf and Leo Ferrè, along with a special tribute to Adriano Celentano, a true icon of Italian music. This combination of culture and heritage made the event a resounding success, drawing attention to the region's rich geological resources.
