Mine rehabilitation is a systematic process, defined through environmental baseline analysis, safety risk assessment and stakeholder consultation that sets the required actions and related closure targets.

This procedure is currently in use at IMI Fabi’s mines to assess and settle the mine closure plans.

Objectives shall comply with existing regulations and conditions, safety and public health, quality and safety for air, water and soil,  also in relation to potential contamination from hazardous material.

The definition of a strategic plan that fixes targets and solutions, being a dynamic process as well, requires ongoing involvement of stakeholders to identify shared and sustainable strategies.

Mine closure objectives are progressively identified on an ad hoc basis and divided into domains.
